How We Collect SMS Consent

Hipop Markets collects explicit SMS consent through a dedicated checkbox during account registration. This consent is separate from our Terms of Service and email marketing preferences.

I agree to receive SMS from Hipop Markets about my account, applications, and updates. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

This checkbox appears on all signup screens (Vendor, Market Organizer, and Shopper registration). Users must actively check this box to receive SMS messages - it is unchecked by default.

SMS Consent Details

Opt-In Method

Users provide consent by checking the dedicated SMS consent checkbox during account registration on our mobile app (iOS/Android) or website. This checkbox is:

Unchecked by default (opt-in required)
Separate from Terms of Service agreement
Separate from email marketing consent
Clearly labeled with all required disclosures

Message Types

Users who opt in may receive SMS messages about:

Vendor application status updates
Market approval notifications
Payment reminders and confirmations
Important account updates
Event reminders and notifications

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on user activity. Typically 1-5 messages per vendor application or market event. Users will not receive more than 10 messages per month unless there is significant account activity.

How to Opt Out

You can opt out of SMS messages at any time using any of these methods:

Reply STOP to any SMS message you receive from Hipop Markets
Reply CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, END, or QUIT - all keywords are honored
Update your preferences in your account settings within the app
Contact us at hipopmarkets@gmail.com

After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent unless you opt in again.
